Closing the “Justice Gap” is an important challenge facing the legal profession, and must be addressed by finding ways to provide greater access and assistance to individuals of low to moderate means; those to whom legal representation may be a closed door. We seek to do our part by providing education and information that will answer many of the questions people have about the legal system and the legal process, and by using our resources to help our clients access services made affordable, of high quality, and focused on specific areas of need that will address economic concerns. We believe that the best client is an informed and educated one, so we provide learning opportunities that will lead to a better understanding of the law and how the law works.

We collaborate with other social change organizations to provide access to the legal system to marginalized communities, education to interested community partners, and organizational support to individuals and communities planning campaigns addressing legal issues of importance to them.
Often, people come to us with litigation or legal issues in process they have begun without legal advice, simply looking for direction and education about how to proceed. We provide resources to support their efforts, including guidance in researching legal issues and the laws needed to support their actions, court procedure, assistance with formulating litigation strategies, and drafting and reviewing pleadings and briefs. As an educational services organization, we collaborate with other nonprofit organizations and activists to develop workshops on topics of interest to individuals and communities.
The People’s Law Firm provides information, referrals, training, and technical assistance for community organizations and individuals who seek to protect their rights under the law and secure justice for marginalized communities and groups in the metro Atlanta area.

The People’s Law Firm accomplishes this mission and secures its vision by working with communities and individuals in a respectful manner, approaching the issues with a clear goal in mind, providing each client with the knowledge base needed to allow them to be stakeholders in the process, and, through the use of advocacy, action, and education, find an effective solution to their legal issues. We commit to finding resources to address non-legal matters that directly affect our clients’ abilities to access the services they need because often there are other factors impacting a person and their family when legal needs arise. We provide information on programs and services offered in the community that may be available to help support you and your family through difficult times because we understand the stress and anxiety that often accompany unresolved legal problems.
